Luxurious Fall Leather
Cooler weather in Vermont is coming, the leaves have made their annual change and soon snow will be flying. Chunky sweaters, flannels, winter jackets, and jeans fill my winter closet. However, my favorite cool weather accessory is my leather collection. I own a handful of leather pieces that combined with my other clothing items make up my fall/winter wardrobe.
The supple, smooth, and soft feel of handcrafted leather is like no other. The first time I felt high quality leather was in Italy. The shop owner was charismatic and prideful of his work; he made custom leather jackets and loved dressing his clients. He looked at me and decided which jacket design and leather color would suit my body type, hair, and complexion. The entire process was exciting; this man was dressing me and customizing something just for me! My handcrafted leather jacket was made in a cognac color with a waist-cinching belt on the back; it also has beautiful zipper details. This jacket is perfect for cooler nights and it pairs well with dresses or jeans.
Two years ago I stumbled upon a pair of epic leather combat boots, they were made by Frye and they were without a doubt out of my price range. That love affair has turned into an obsession with the New York based leather boot company. I now own a pair of black engineering boots, which are my favorite for winter, and my dark brown stone antiqued Jenna combat boots, which are my favorite for fall. These vintage boots offer style and comfort to any cold weather outfit. I love that everything including the laces are made of high-end leather. I also love that the Frye Company has been handcrafting boots since 1863 and they started in our southern border state, Massachusetts. Us New Englanders have to stick together!
An outfit is nothing without a beautiful leather handbag. As a mommy I have ventured towards backpacks for my day-to-day handbag. My current favorite is my green Michael Kors backpack; you can’t take the green mountain state out of the girl apparently. It’s luxurious leather, it’s compact, it matches all of my outfits, and I own the matching wallet. A backpack is a great handbag to own even if you’re not a mommy! It offers room for a jacket and other cool weather accessories since Vermont weather is so unpredictable.
And there you go, my leather favorites for fall. Continue to check my Facebook and Instagram page for updates!
