Beckett's First Birthday
It happened. My baby turned one. As parents we have been there for it all, and his first birthday was truly bittersweet. We love seeing him grow and watch his personality develop but a part of me wishes time would slow down. I luckily didn't cry, I let myself live in the moment and take it all in.
We celebrated Beckett's first birthday with friends and family in Illinois. Beckett has always been wild and we chose to do "Where the Wild Things Are" theme. I chose deep maroon, mustard, navy, and forest green colors to compliment the September weather and the theme of the party. I made the table and high chair banner from scrap fabric and string, I also created the cake topper with BBQ skewers, string, and craft paper. We decided on a naked cake for the rustic element and also for Beckett's sake, poor kid doesn't need that much sugar! The day was memorable and fun for all who came. I'm grateful for these memories and I'm grateful for the help and generosity of our family and friends. Scroll through to see some pictures from the day.
