Arts & Entertainment: Ballet Vermont to Host Auditions for 2018 Season
Ballet Vermont will be hosting auditions for their 2018 season on February 4th 2018. Ballet Vermont produces two ballet productions; Farm to Ballet in the summer and Bee's & Friends in the fall. Ballet Vermont provides an outlet for professional ballet dancers, musicians, and composers in Vermont to express their creativity and collaborate in a way that betters the Vermont community.
This will be the 4th summer season of Farm to Ballet, a production that celebrates Vermont's local farmers and food movement with the fluidity of classical ballet. The performances take place on farms throughout the state. Bee's & Friends, Ballet Vermont's fall production depicts bees, bugs and birds and their crucial role to a healthy Vermont. Set to Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Bee's & Friends highlights the topics of metamorphoses, pollination, and pest management. The performances are fundraisers to support and honor the work of our local farmers and food movement. Dancers can audition for one or both productions.
“We are looking for a diverse cast of dancers from adults that are just beginning to explore ballet classes to more experienced dancers, or former dancers with previous training,” said Ballet Vermont founder and artistic director Chatch Pregger.
The audition on February 4 will begin at 11 a.m. at Spotlight Vermont, 50 San Remo Drive in South Burlington. Learn more at www.balletvermont.org/ and register for the audition at https://www.farmtoballet.org/dancer-info-summer-2018.html. Follow Ballet Vermont on Facebook.
