Places to Try: The Silver Fork
Tucked away in the quaint town of Manchester, Vermont is a tiny 6 table, 5 bar stool restaurant. The Silver Fork may be compact, however the food they serve is packed with flavor. The menu is clever and subtle and the plating is visually perfect. The owners, Mark and Melody, are truly genuine to each and every customer and offer an atmosphere that feels exclusive.
My recommendations are as follows:
Beverage: The Snowfall: Mint, gin, pomegranate liquor, lime juice, simple syrup and tonic.
Starter: Roasted half pear topped with goat cheese and lavender honey.
Entree: 1) Pecan and maple glazed duck breast served with mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans with onion and bacon.
2) Maryland "Real" Crabcake served with homemade fries and tartar sauce.
Dessert: Gran Marnier Swan with homemade Gran Marnier ice cream over warm chocolate ganache.
Because of the intimate setting, reservations are a must at The Silver Fork. Available days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 5:00 p.m to close. Call 1-802-768-8444 to make a reservation at one of the best restaurants in Vermont. Want to peek at their menu? Find it here.
