Places to Go: Spring in Vermont

I plan to ignore the spring snow and concentrate on what will be surrounding us shortly, warmer weather. With spring on it’s way outdoor festivals and other exciting activities will be the buzz around Vermont. Here’s a list of some exciting spring 2018 festivities!


March 10, 2018: Five Merlots from Five Countries: Hosted by The Trapp Family Lodge

From 4pm-6pm join the Trapp Family Lodge as they host a wine tasting in their wine cellar. Cost will be $20 per person and the Merlot’s that will be tasted are Mezza Corona Merlot- Verona Italy, Casillero del Diablo Merlot- Central Valley, Chile, Oyster Bay Merlot- Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, Chateau le Bergey- Bordeaux, France, and lastly Milbrandt Merlot- Columbia Valley, Washington. March 23-25, 2018: Maple Open House Weekend at Sugarbush Farm

Come and join the Luce’s to celebrate all things maple. Learn all about maple syrup from the process of collecting the sap to boiling and it’s journey into its’ final form. Sample maple syrup and other Vermont products including cheese and preserves. The Sugarbush Farm Store will be open that weekend.


April 1, 2018: Burke Mountain Easter Egg Hunt

Starting at 10am on Easter Sunday Burke Mountain will be hosting an epic Easter egg hunt. Eggs will be hidden all over, from the trails to the hotel, inside those eggs are amazing prizes and whoever finds the golden eggs (there will only be two golden eggs) will be the winner of a free weekend getaway package for two and a 2018-19 season’s pass! Take the family and have fun this Easter Sunday in an unexpected way. 


April 28, 2018: St. Johnsbury World Maple Festival

Come and celebrate the history and heritage behind the maple syrup industry. There will be a 5k that morning along with a pancake breakfast. Expect 60 craft and food vendors along with all-day entertainment. Festival admission is FREE. Click here for more details.

May 26 & 27, 2018: Underhill Ironworks Open Studio

Gerald Stoner will be presenting more than 50 crafted welded steel sculptures for the Vermont Crafts Council Spring Open Studio. Hours of the open house will be from 10am-5pm. Click here for more details.
